Gordon Saunders doesn’t do it just for the tasty snacks at the end.
Although he says he enjoys a nice heaping handful of salty Lays regular chips afterward, Saunders donates his blood as often as he can.
When he learned there was a demand for O-negative blood — Saunders’ blood type — the Stevensville man felt a sense of duty he couldn’t ignore.
“I just felt obligated. I just thought I should do it because anybody can use it,” he said.
“There’s a shortage of blood, and I just think if you need blood when you go to the hospital, you better donate it when you know somebody else is going to need it.”
