A fifteen-year-old who fell nearly fifty feet off a cliff edge says he’s still alive today thanks to the double blood transfusion he received at the scene.
Leighton Alexander, from North Tyneside, was put into an induced coma after the accident two years ago.
He required several blood transfusions on his road to recovery – and now his family are encouraging others to consider donating.
Some of the injuries Leighton suffered included fractures to the skull, neck and back, as well as a broken collarbone, ribs and pelvis.
