Kyle Maclennan’s life was saved by blood donors – now he wants more people to give blood to save lives.

The 19-year-old from Dalneigh in Inverness is being treated for a rare life-threatening condition but took time out from his gruelling recovery to issue his appeal.

Kyle went to his GP last March after injuring his hand and at the same time also complained he had been inexplicably losing weight.

The result of a blood test saw him admitted to Raigmore Hospital just a few hours later where tests showed he had aplastic anaemia, a rare and potentially deadly condition where the bone marrow fails to produce essential blood cells.
