It’s an incredible milestone, but Bill Ireland didn’t want too much fuss when he made his 700th blood donation today.
The Taree man first rolled up his sleeves in 1963… inspired by his father Clive.
“He got badly shot up during the war in New Guinea and a blood transfusion saved his life he went on gave a lot of blood transfusions and he was a blood donor for many years,” Bill said.
Now 77, Bill still gives blood and plasma every fortnight.. Lifeblood marking his 700th with balloons, and a handshake.
