In 1959, Sidney’s Bill Forrester donated a pint of blood for the first time. He was 29 years old on that occasion.
“They came around and I knew some of the people working on it,” Forrester said of his first donation.
Last week, Forrester was the first in line when the American Red Cross held a blood drive in Sidney. He has now given 25 gallons or 200 pints of blood.
