Scott Hetsko will tell you his second chance at life came in 2015. That’s when he received a heart transplant. His donor was 26-year-old Shawn McMullen.

“We wanted to have a celebration for Shawn and everything he did for me and so many other people he helped through organ donation,” said Hetsko.

McMullen’s family hadn’t discussed organ donation, but the Army veteran from Williamsville was wearing a green band on his wrist signifying he wanted to be a donor.
