A LOYAL blood donor, Gregory Rodda, made his 200th whole blood donation at SANBS in Kensington Square on Saturday.
Rodda, who hails from Durban North, was joined by his wife Emma and his children, Aidin and Sasha.
“I made my first blood donation on July 12, 1985. My grandfather, father and stepmom were loyal blood donors, and I followed their example,” said Rodda.
“It literally is in my blood,” he said, referring to the SANBS saying: ‘Be a hero. It’s in your blood’.
He started donating when he lived in Johannesburg, and since then, has persuaded family and friends to do the same.
It was only when he had tattoos done that he couldn’t donate for three months.
