Neva Rogers said she could think of no better way to honor her children than with a blood drive.
“So that’s what I wanted to do to remember them and I knew that my children would love the idea, if they were here, they would be happy about saving others,” she said.
Two years ago, her three children Kristian, Kaleb, and Alexander along with their father Kantrell Hires, were killed in a car crash near Midland, Texas. Kaleb, Alexander and their father Kantrell died instantly. Kristian lived to get to a hospital.
Part of the reason Rogers wanted to have the honorary blood drive was because of how much blood it took to try to save the 16-year-old.
