Blood donations are crucial this time of year, but the American Red Cross said donations can be hard to come by as many people are busy during the holiday season.

It’s these blood donations that are so important, especially when they can help save lives. A local Eau Claire woman shared her story with us and said if it wasn’t for those donations, she would not be here today.

Many of us have received the phone call from the American Red Cross; but it’s these calls that can mean so much to someone on the receiving end of that donation.

“Without that I wouldn’t be here right now doing this,” said Julie Herman of Eau Claire.
