A local man is hosting a blood drive and encouraging others to give back

Matthew Stewart became sick in February, had to go to the hospital. He said he needed 8 blood transfusions.

He is doing much better now, but wanted to show his gratitude.

“If it hadn’t been for those who donated in the past, I wouldn’t be here,” he said. “We wanted to have a blood drive. We felt like it was the best way to give back to the community and say thank you for what we’ve been given as well.”
