A 21-year-old student whose life was saved before she was born is training to be a nurse to ‘give back’ and treat others.

Elizabeth Fox, who celebrated her landmark birthday on Monday, April 23, had gone into heart failure in mum Louise’s stomach during the pregnancy.

She had to have an emergency blood transfusion while in the womb – and without it medics had said she would have died.

Now training to be a nurse at the University of Lincoln, Elizabeth said she ‘loved’ the vocation and wanted to ‘give back’ to help other patients.

“After everything that happened you appreciate it a bit more. It’s always been something I wanted to do. I love it – I would not want to do anything different. It makes it a bit more [special] and it’s something to give back,” she said.
