A sad story that I shared last year looks like it may have a happy ending. That’s because of help from people from all over the world, including the Lehigh Valley.
I wrote about Zainab Mughal’s dire situation in December. The 3-year-old Florida girl has neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer.
I’m happy to report that her doctor is optimistic that Zainab is on the road to recovery, after surgery to remove a tumor, followed by two bone marrow transplants.
Those treatments would not have been possible if at least 25,000 people hadn’t stepped up to try to help her with a unique need — rare blood.
