For more than four decades, a Hilton Head man has been donating to a cause he loves.
And tonight, the organization is hoping his actions will inspire others to step up and make a difference this Valentine’s Day.
Bruce Haslip of Hilton Head Island started donating blood when he was in college.
What turned him into a regular donor was a ring from the American Red Cross.
“They had a patient that going through open heart surgery. And what I had was really unique. And they were trying to match his blood type exactly to be able to give him the highest chance, to be able to have a good outcome,” Haslip said.
That phone call turned Haslip into a lifelong donor.
