Boston Children’s Hospital will host a blood drive in honor of Quinn Waters, a 3-year-old boy from Weymouth, recently diagnosed with brain cancer.

Dubbed “The Mighty Quinn” by his supporters, Quinn is battling medulloblastoma, a type of cancer found most often in the brains of young children. He was diagnosed the day after his third birthday.

The drive will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 14 in the St. Jerome School gym, 598 Bridge St.

“Mighty Quinn” is the son of Tara Waters, a Quincy police officer. Members of the Quincy police department shaved their heads in solidarity in April during a fundraiser for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises money for research on childhood cancer. The foundation has raised more than $27,000.
