An eight-year-old girl who almost died in a horror car accident has shared her story, as the Red Cross calls for more blood donors this Easter period.

Mattea Riccardi was non-responsive when the air ambulance landed in Athlone, in the Victoria’s west.

Trapped inside the wreckage of her family car after a high speed crash on February 10, Mattea was critical when the air ambulance arrived.
