Their son, Ethan, now seven, is doing well with his treatment. Although Ethan and his father had planned to be at the clinic for several hours, Blood Services has decided that, in light of the pandemic, that wouldn’t be a good plan and asked them not to attend.

Noting that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Aseem Mahajan said he was concerned after Ethan was diagnosed to learn only four per cent of Canadians donate blood.

The Mahajans hosted a blood drive last June that attracted several new donors.
