A little bit of blood can go a long way, especially in the life of a child with cancer.
That is the message from Canadian Blood Services for the month of September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
“It’s important for us to focus on supporting children because we know that cancer effects people young and old,” Mike Choi, territory manager at Canadian Blood Services said. “Children going through treatment may require five to eight units of blood per week. That’s why when you give blood, you truly are giving life. You’re giving these kids that are fighting cancer the chance to recover and focus on being a kid.”
