Many people in Arizona need your blood donations. Vitalant, a nonprofit that collects blood for hospitals, said supply is low. It blames COVID-19 for canceling thousands of blood drives.
“It’s been the perfect storm of blood shortages between blood drive cancelations,” said Sue Thew, communications drector for Vitalant in Arizona. “We’ve lost about 70% of our school-sponsored blood drives.”
Mia McPoland is someone who needs that blood. “I’ve been basically doing this my whole life, ever since I was 6 weeks old,” said McPoland.
