Students and staff recently rolled up their sleeves to help save dozens of local lives by participating in a blood drive at school.

The Chambersburg Area Senior High School gifted program hosted the blood drive on March 29.

The 28 pints of blood collected from 47 donors will be used to treat 84 local patients, the school district said in a news release.

“The blood drives help us get out into the community and to know what it means to give back. I think that is a very important thing for high school students to learn,” said Emma Wolfe, a senior at CASHS. “The blood drive is a great way to help others, and it makes me feel really good to get to see all of my friends help out too.”
