Nancy Carlton knows life can change in an instant because she saw it happen several months ago after going out to dinner with friends to celebrate their son Dylan Broussard’s 18th birthday. “He was fine and we had a great evening that was a lot of fun,” Carlton said.

But she said the next day Broussard told his family he found some lumps on his neck. “He got an appointment immediately,” she said. “And the doctor told them that if he had waited even a week or two to get it checked out it would have been too late for them to do anything to help him.”
