A Bury St Edmunds blood donor with a rare blood type made his 100th blood donation on Tuesday.
Tony Allen has the unusual O RH negative blood type – the only blood that can be given to anyone regardless of their blood type.
One unit of blood can help save the lives of three people, meaning Mr Allen may have saved as many as 300 people with his 100 donations.
He said: “Donating blood is something that I really believe in, I have seen friends and work colleagues who have received multiple pints of blood and blood products, and I’m glad to be able to help.”
