A blood donor clinic in honour of Malleck Kennedy, who is fighting precursor B acute lymphoblastic leukemia, will be held 3-7 p.m. March 19 at the Sudbury Donor Centre, 944 Barrydowne Rd.

Kennedy was diagnosed with the cancer in 2017.

“The gift of blood is the perfect present for any little boy out there fighting for his life,” Malleck’s mother Sarah said in a release.

Leukemia patients can receive up to eight units of blood per week for the duration of their treatment. “Currently, Malleck is still undergoing treatment and has approximately 14 months left until he is done,” said Sarah. “He is doing well overall and we feel fortunate for this every single day.” This is the third year the family has hosted a blood donation in honour of their son.
