Family, friends and residents of Moraine are celebrating the life of former Moraine Mayor Bob Rosencrans by holding a blooding drive Saturday.

Mayor Rosencrans was known in the community for his service and his contributions to the Dayton Community Blood Center. Family said Rosencrans gave blood over 70 times during his lifetime and encouraged others to do the same.

The ninth annual blood drive is way for family and friends to honor the memory Mayor Rosencrans, who was killed in a car accident in 2010.

“There is a huge need in the community for blood and blood products. People in car accidents, people who have surgery, people who have diseases like cancer and things like that are in constant need of blood.” said Wes.
