In the process of coming up with a project to help him become an Eagle Scout, Danny McCall may have become a lifesaver.
McCall, a 17-year-old Bear resident, teamed up with the Blood Bank of Delmarva to host a blood drive earlier this month. Those who donated blood would get their car washed by McCall’s fellow Scouts in Troop 902.
As he worked on the project, the teen learned just how important blood donations are.
“You can save a life just by doing that,” McCall said. “I didn’t understand that. … I didn’t even think about it like that. That really hit me hard.”
