A Kirkland family, fighting childhood cancer, is now calling on the community for blood donations to help raise awareness about the need for patients with cancer.
“Our lives changed forever,” said Christine O’Connell whose daughter, Jane, was diagnosed with cancer in March. Her daughter, who was 3 years old at the time, had been experiencing flu-like symptoms, but doctors soon informed then Jane had Stage IV kidney cancer that spread to her lungs and spine.
“That’s life-changing news when that happens and, unfortunately, too many families get that news,” said Jane’s mom, Christine O’Connell.
