Roland Burger is always the first one to arrive, ready to give. And in the process, he’s saved hundreds of lives.
When a blood drive is set up at the Treynor Community Center, Burger will be there to sit back in a chair, relax his arm and donate a pint.
On Dec. 14, the 91-year-old World War II army veteran gave gallon No. 29, pint No. 3 of the red stuff to the American Red Cross.
