Donating blood to save a life. The Cherokee Middle School here in Springfield is holding their annual blood donation and they do it around this time year all for their principal’s son.

Born on February 14th, Bill Powers says because of an anonymous blood donor his, now, 9-year-old son is alive today. And wanting to get his school involved Powers set out to help others, just like his son.

“We’ll never know who made that donation but it’s people, like we have here today, who are just giving up an hour of their time that are making a difference in someone’s life forever,” says Powers.

Because you have to be 16-years-old to donate blood Cherokee Middle schooler’s dressed as blood droplets and made signs to do what they can to make a difference.
